Hey everyone, just wanted to jot down some thoughts on this cool new thing I'm working on. You know how music executives, indie artists, and even those of us feeling stagnant in our music careers often daydream about doing something new, but it feels impossible because we don't know where to begin? Well, I think I might have found something to help with that.
I'm calling it Ideas Generator. It's still an experiment, but I'm excited about it. Currently, it has over 100 different music business ideas, and I might add more in the future as new concepts come to mind. Basically, it's like having a brainstorming buddy in your pocket, powered by some nifty AI magic. It helps come up with music business ideas and explore cool concepts—especially for the Malaysian music scene, which I think could really use more of this.
What It Does
Picture this: you're chilling at home, maybe a bit bored, and instead of doomscrolling TikTok trying to catch the next trend/content, you open this app and start swiping through music business ideas—just like flipping through a deck of cards. It feels natural, and honestly, kind of fun. You can swipe left and right, or just arrow-key your way through the collection. I wanted it to feel easy and kinda like Snapchat.
My favorite part is the Idea Mixer. This is where the AI (gpt-4o) comes in. You can take two different ideas and mash them up into something new. It even scores how "compatible" they are, which I think is pretty rad. The idea is to get people—including myself—thinking outside the box and coming up with combos we wouldn’t have considered otherwise.
P/S: Please don't spam the Mixer... you will blow up my GPT credits.
The ideas are also neatly categorized (like Artist Management, Live Events, Content Creation, a bit of Tech), and each one has a difficulty level (Easy, Medium, Hard). This makes it easier to find something that doesn’t feel overwhelming. You can save favorites, filter stuff, or even get random suggestions. Sometimes randomness is exactly what you need.
Nerdy Bits
For those curious about the tech side, there's some technical wizardry behind the scenes. An algorithm checks how well different ideas might work together—like matching sounds in a track, but for music business concepts. It looks at how categories relate, market potential, and other factors. The whole thing works on any device, so it’ll look good whether you're on an old desktop or a shiny new smartphone.
What Comes Next?
I think there's potential here, especially for people in Malaysia getting into the music industry. It’s a fun way to discover opportunities—less about the formal business school approach and more about just exploring ideas. We’ll see where it goes, but it’s been fun to build so far.
Wrapping Up
That's where Ideas Generator is at for now. If you’re into exploring new opportunities in the music industry or just want to see what's possible, I think it could be pretty neat. AI, but make it fun.
Feel free to check out more of what I'm doing at slatan.world. Let me know what you think—I’m always down for feedback or chatting about wild music business ideas.
Alright, that’s all for now. Ciao!
